Alpe Cermis

Off season Official site

Alpe Cermis is a ski area in Italy, on slopes between roughly 1,439 and 1,439 m. Its mapped area is about 6.7 km across, with 34 marked runs and 8 lifts (about 25 km of piste in all).

Over the last twelve winters the ERA5 weather model gives it 164 cm of snowfall a season, 1,485th (tied) of 3,069 worldwide and 116th in Italy. It swings a lot from year to year: the biggest winter, 2020/21 (301 cm), brought more than 4 times as much as the leanest, 2021/22 (68 cm). December brings as much snow as January here (42 and 34 cm on average).

Below is a link to its official live camera.

We do not show a snow depth here. The weather model we use reports snow lying on the ground — it knows nothing about grooming or snowmaking, and it is not the base depth a ski area publishes. In Japan we can check our figures against 234 weather stations. Outside Japan there is nothing to check them against, so we do not print a number we have not verified. Winter by winter

Across the 12 winters measured, the average is 164 cm, and 7 of them fell short of it. The leanest was 2021/22 with 68 cm; the biggest was 2020/21 with 301 cm (4.4 times as much). For 55% of the 177 ski areas in Italy, the leanest winter was the same 2021/22: bad winters tend to hit a whole region at once.
