Arabba

Off season Official site

Arabba is a ski area in Italy, on slopes between roughly 1,763 and 1,763 m. Its mapped area is about 9.2 km across, with 78 marked runs and 16 lifts (about 45 km of piste in all).

Over the last twelve winters the ERA5 weather model gives it 170 cm of snowfall a season, 1,416th (tied) of 3,069 worldwide and 105th in Italy. It swings a lot from year to year: the biggest winter, 2020/21 (340 cm), brought more than 4 times as much as the leanest, 2021/22 (76 cm). December brings as much snow as January here (49 and 34 cm on average).

Below is a link to its official live camera.

Snow depth and the seven-day outlook appear here once snow starts to fall. Until then, the long-run record comes first.

We do not show a snow depth here. The weather model we use reports snow lying on the ground — it knows nothing about grooming or snowmaking, and it is not the base depth a ski area publishes. In Japan we can check our figures against 234 weather stations. Outside Japan there is nothing to check them against, so we do not print a number we have not verified. Winter by winter

Across the 12 winters measured, the average is 170 cm, and 8 of them fell short of it. The leanest was 2021/22 with 76 cm; the biggest was 2020/21 with 340 cm (4.5 times as much). For 55% of the 177 ski areas in Italy, the leanest winter was the same 2021/22: bad winters tend to hit a whole region at once.
